Introduction

In today’s digital world, many office workers spend long hours sitting in front of computers. This can lead to problems like back pain, neck stiffness, stress, and poor posture. Chair yoga is a simple and effective way to stay active and healthy without leaving your desk.

 

What is Chair Yoga?

Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done while sitting on a chair or using a chair for support. It is perfect for beginners, office workers, and people who cannot do traditional yoga poses.

Simple Chair Yoga Exercises

1)  Seated Neck Stretch

Slowly tilt your head to one side and hold for 5–10 seconds. Repeat on the other side.

2)  Shoulder Rolls

Roll your shoulders forward and backward 10 times to release tension.

3)  Seated Twist

Sit straight and gently twist your body to one side, holding the chair. Repeat on the other side.

4)  Seated Forward Bend

Bend forward slowly and try to touch your toes. This helps stretch the back.

5)  Leg Extension

Lift one leg straight and hold for a few seconds, then switch legs.

 

Tips for Practicing Chair Yoga

·      Sit on a stable chair without wheels

·      Keep your back straight

·      Breathe slowly and deeply

·      Do exercises gently (no force)

·      Practice for 10–15 minutes daily
